About Me
Hello, I’m your next baseball coach. My name is Shea Reagan. Everybody has a baseball story, here's
mine.
At an early age, my dad recognized that I loved baseball. He apparently wanted a front row seat, because he signed up to be my coach. We had a great run over the years, and made some memories. We even won a few games. I eventually moved on from Little League and continued to play throughout high school. My pops remained a Little League coach, molding young men and churning out future ballplayers. When my playing days were over, I started coaching alongside him. I spent the better part of a decade sharing a dugout with my father, having more fun than I ever thought possible.
Here are some key areas of focus where I've had success coaching:
At ten years old, I had already been coached to field every position. He believed in proper preparation. Fundamentally sound defense is the core of any winning team.
Understanding how to combine balance and muscle memory gave me the confidence to take the mound as an effective pitcher.
I was put behind the plate as the team's catcher, in order to see the game differently.
perspective, I learned a lot back there. Talking to the opposing hitters was always a fun bonus.
In addition to all the strategy and physical execution, he taught me the mental game of baseball. He made clear to that baseball and life are somewhat similar. They're both games of constant adjustment. It didn’t take too long for me to realize that my dad was invested in the boys he coached. He was dedicated to their success both on and off the field. He placed as much value on character development as he did on player development. I plan on carrying on that legacy.
Brad Pitt was right... “how could you not be romantic about baseball?”
